WWE SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon won the WWE’s World Cup at Crown Jewel on Friday night. He wasn’t the part of the eight participants for the tournament at the controversial event in Saudi Arabia. In fact, they were Kurt Angle, Bobby Lashley, Jeff Hardy, Bobby Lashley, Rey Mysterio, The Miz, Seth Rollins, Dolph Ziggler and Randy Orton.

Shane McMahon stepped in at the last minute to replace The Miz. He took the victory over Ziggler after hitting a few punches, a coast to coast dropkick on him in the corner. WWE Officials referred to Shane as the ‘Best in the World’ following the win and Shane celebrated with the trophy. It was a very unfamiliar end to the World Cup tournament, completely odd.

Other results from WWE Crown Jewel event included Shawn Michaels and Triple H beating Undertaker and Kane, AJ Styles shared the ring with Samoa Joe and retain his WWE Championship, The Bar defeating The New Day with the tidy assist from The Big Show and Brock Lesnar dominantly winning the WWE Universal Championship against Braun Strowman.

WWE’s next event, Survivor Series, will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Nov. 18. The top match of the show has already been announced where Styles will face to face against Lesnar in a champion vs. champion match.
